Hi Reader, One of the biggest shifts I made in my own health journey—and one of the biggest things I teach my clients—is this: Your hormones don't work alone. When most women start struggling in midlife, they immediately assume they need to "fix their hormones." And while hormones absolutely matter... They're only one piece of the picture. Your hormones are constantly interacting with your gut, your liver, your thyroid, your blood sugar, your nervous system, your sleep, and even your muscle mass. In other words... Hormones are part of a system. And when one part of that system isn't functioning well, the rest of it often feels the effects. For example, did you know your gut microbiome actually changes as you move through perimenopause and menopause? As estrogen levels decline, we also tend to lose some of the diversity in our gut bacteria. That matters because your gut helps regulate inflammation, supports your immune system, influences blood sugar, and even plays a role in how estrogen is metabolized. Your liver is just as important. It's responsible for processing hormones, helping convert thyroid hormone into its active form, and clearing things your body no longer needs. When these systems aren't being supported well, you might notice things like: • More bloating than you used to have. It doesn't necessarily mean something is "wrong." It means your body may need a different strategy than it did 10 or 20 years ago. And here's something I want you to know... You do not need an expensive detox. You probably don't need a 21-day gut reset. You don't need a cabinet full of supplements. In my experience, women often jump to advanced protocols before they've built the foundations that actually allow those systems to work well in the first place. That's why inside MTM, we always start with the basics. Simple things like: ✔️ Eating enough protein and fiber to support your gut microbiome. ✔️ Including plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables that nourish both your gut bacteria and your liver. ✔️ Keeping blood sugar more stable by building balanced meals. ✔️ Moving your body and building muscle, which supports insulin sensitivity and overall metabolic health. None of those things are flashy. None of them are trendy. But they're incredibly powerful. And once those foundations are in place, then we can decide whether someone actually needs a more advanced strategy. Most of the time, women are surprised by how much better they feel simply by supporting the systems their hormones rely on every day. Because here's the thing... Midlife doesn't create the problem. It reveals the strategy that no longer works. And that's exactly why the approach that got you results in your 30s may not be the approach your body needs now. Hi Reader If I had a dollar for every woman who sat across from me and said... "My doctor told me everything looks normal." ...even though she felt like garbage. She's sitting in front of me saying... I can't lose weight. My energy is tanked. I'm waking up all night. My cycles have changed. My hair is thinning. I'm snapping at my family over everything. To name a few things.... So… now what? Here’s what many women don’t realize: “Normal” doesn’t always mean “optimal.” Most standard lab...
Hi Reader, A common phrase I hear from women is.... "But I eat SO healthy... why can't I lose weight?" And honestly? I believe them. This used to be me, as a matter of fact! Many of the women who come to me are already eating: ✓ Organic ✓ Low carb ✓ Very little sugar ✓ No seed oils ✓ Whole, minimally processed foods ✓ Lots of vegetables They're making a tremendous effort. So why aren't they seeing the results they deserve? Because healthy eating and strategic eating aren't always the same...
Hi Reader, Happy Friday! If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ve probably heard me mention my Metabolic Mocha. It’s one of my favorite morning rituals and one of the easiest ways I practice what I call Intentional Fuel—taking something I’m already enjoying and making it work harder for my body. Instead of just drinking a regular cup of coffee, I turn it into a creamy mocha that helps support me because it includes: ☕ Protein to help me hit my daily protein goals and support muscle. 🦴...
