Rebecca knew how to diet. She just didn't know how to stop dieting.

Hi Reader

I'll never forget my client from a few years ago, Rebecca...

She came to me as a "pro dieter" (she even called herself that!) and told me she had done every diet in the book. They all would work for some time and then she would "get lazy" and "cheat" and she would stop losing or regain the weight (those are the words she used).

She came to me literally asking for more willpower and motivation and said that she had lost all of hers and didn't know how to get it back so she could complete a diet and finally lose the weight for good.

She said "Bridgette, how do I get more motivation to stay on track? I'm so tired."

Have you ever found yourself feeling this way? If you could just be more disciplined, you might finally be successful.... right? So, she would keep trying different diets and every "failure" made her feel more down in the dumps and more like she had no discipline anymore.

Here's the thing... Rebecca already had more discipline and motivation than most. She was a very successful businesswoman with a husband and 2 kids. She had advanced degrees and her children were successful in their school and activities. She was a star in my eyes. But her weight was an ever-growing plague on her mind every single day.

In her mind, she had no discipline or motivation and was beating herself up about it.

So despite being really nervous and skeptical about doing things a new way, she decided to work with me.

I help her do something she had never done before (despite thinking she has done it all!)

Instead of giving her a set of food rules, we focused on helping her build the skills she had never learned:

  • How to eat without obsessing over macros
  • Learning how her hormonal shifts presented challenges but also how to use food and fitness to support them and work WITH her body
  • How to include foods that she loved without feeling guilty
  • How to stop viewing foods as "good" or "bad"
  • How to stop viewing the scale number as the most important metric of success
  • How to scale her habits so she was always moving forward, even on the busiest and most stressful weeks
  • How to build habits that she could maintain so she didn't always have to start over

And something really interesting happened.

She was seeing slow and steady progress while also spending WAY LESS mental energy on "sticking to her meal plan."

Her stress dropped and she finally felt more freedom with food and with trusting herself.

There was no more "messing up" or "starting over."

Her food noise dropped significantly because she was no longer battling with herself everyday over her food choices.

Here's the main takeaway....

She knew how to diet (in fact, she was a pro!), but she didn't know how to live life without always dieting. She didn't know how to maintain.

This, my friends, is the part that a medication or supplement can't do for you.

GLP-1s and other tools can absolutely be helpful, but they can't teach you how to build a life you don't need to constantly diet your way through. That's the deeper work that finally sets you free.

If this resonates, I'd love to help.

Reply back and say "I'm interested" and I'll send you more information and we can see if a new approach to fat loss in midlife might be right for you.

Hi Reader Have you ever gone on a "diet" and actually lost weight? Most of the women I speak with have but the reason they are seeing me is because they were not able to maintain their losses and/or now they are stuck feeling like even their old methods aren't working anymore. So, this is actually useful information because if you find you HAVE lost weight in the past, then you don't actually have a weight loss problem! yay, good news! So, what is the problem then? Why did the weight come...
