Things I No Longer Do For Weight Loss (and honestly, good riddance 😂)

Happy Friday!

I was thinking about all the things I used to do in the name of weight loss...

And honestly?

Some of them are a little embarrassing. 😂

For example....

❌ Order the salad when I really wanted the burger

❌ Skip breakfast to "save calories"

❌ Start over on Monday

❌ Think one meal ruined everything

❌ Weigh myself after a salty dinner and immediately question all my life choices

❌ Do extra cardio because I ate dessert

❌ Eat diet ice cream but then eat the entire pint because it was "low calorie"

❌ Heavily restrict carbs

❌ Eat 1,000–1,200 calories and call it a weight loss plan

❌ Eyeball my portions and wonder why my deficit wasn't working

❌ Obsess over the scale number without paying attention to how much fat and muscle I actually had

❌ Measure my progress (and my self-worth) by the number on the scale

❌ Lift only super light weights because I was afraid of getting "bulky"

The funny thing is...

At the time, I genuinely thought these habits were helping me lose weight.

In reality, most of them just made me hungry, frustrated, and way more focused on food than I needed to be.

These days, my approach looks very different.

✅ Prioritizing protein

✅ Building muscle

✅ Strength training with intention

✅ Eating enough to support my metabolism

✅ Paying attention to body composition, not just scale weight

✅ Enjoying dessert without needing a guilt trip afterward

✅ Looking at long-term trends instead of daily fluctuations

✅ Fueling my body instead of fighting it

Turns out, the healthiest version of me isn't the one trying to eat the least.

It's the one supporting my body the best—and trusting it to respond.

And honestly?

Good riddance to the old way. 😂

P.S. What's one thing you've stopped doing in the name of weight loss?
Hit reply and let me know.
I have a feeling some of these are going to be good. 😉

Hi Reader, One of the biggest shifts I made in my own health journey—and one of the biggest things I teach my clients—is this: Your hormones don't work alone. When most women start struggling in midlife, they immediately assume they need to "fix their hormones." And while hormones absolutely matter... They're only one piece of the picture. Your hormones are constantly interacting with your gut, your liver, your thyroid, your blood sugar, your nervous system, your sleep, and even your muscle...

Hi Reader If I had a dollar for every woman who sat across from me and said... "My doctor told me everything looks normal." ...even though she felt like garbage. She's sitting in front of me saying... I can't lose weight. My energy is tanked. I'm waking up all night. My cycles have changed. My hair is thinning. I'm snapping at my family over everything. To name a few things.... So… now what? Here’s what many women don’t realize: “Normal” doesn’t always mean “optimal.” Most standard lab...

Hi Reader, A common phrase I hear from women is.... "But I eat SO healthy... why can't I lose weight?" And honestly? I believe them. This used to be me, as a matter of fact! Many of the women who come to me are already eating: ✓ Organic ✓ Low carb ✓ Very little sugar ✓ No seed oils ✓ Whole, minimally processed foods ✓ Lots of vegetables They're making a tremendous effort. So why aren't they seeing the results they deserve? Because healthy eating and strategic eating aren't always the same...
